11 Grams Cafe

Tucked away on a quiet Bangalore street, 11grams Café was envisioned as more than a place to grab coffee — it was imagined as a pause, a slow, grounded moment in the rush of the everyday. At Studio Goya, we approached its design as an exploration of ritual and memory. What does it feel like to be held by a space, to return to it again and again not just for what it offers, but for how it makes you feel?

The design language is rooted in softness — scalloped forms, gentle curves, muted greens, pale greys, and warm woods come together in a space that feels at once nostalgic and new. It is a café that unfolds gradually, revealing small details with each visit: the brushed brass edging that catches the afternoon light, the velvet that invites you to linger, the canopy lights that dance above the booths in a rhythm both playful and poised.

Every element was chosen with quiet intention. Seating was designed to cocoon without isolating, tables were scaled for both solitude and conversation, and the signature pistachio green La Marzocco machine acts not only as a visual anchor, but as a sculptural ode to the ritual of brewing. We wanted the interiors to feel familiar but elevated — a sensory landscape that resists spectacle in favour of intimacy.

The flow of the café was choreographed to invite different moods throughout the day. Morning light spills across soft stone and fluted wood. By evening, reflections deepen in the aged mirrors and the mood shifts — still calm, but cocooned. Whether you’re sitting at the bar with a book, catching up with friends, or simply pausing between things, the space adapts. It holds you, without asking too much.

11grams is a study in restraint, materiality, and atmosphere. It doesn’t try to impress loudly. Instead, it whispers — through texture, tone, and memory. It’s a café designed not just to be seen, but to be felt.
